Good Joke Proton. No, Seriously.
To those in Malaysia, the name ‘Proton’ is a common household name known for their cheap cars. Yup, you guessed it, quality’s cheap too, hence the prices. With no need for an introduction, I present the Proton INSPIRA, being launched in Malaysia:
Now you’re asking what’s the joke right? Hey, wait a second, doesn’t the Inspira look familiar?
As part of a “collaboration” with Mitsubishi, Proton decided to rebadge “base” their Inpira Design on the current Mitsubishi Lancer Evo and I quote what the Chairman of Proton said:
“Proton is ready to move even further ahead to become a recognized player in the global automotive industry. We have been working and collaborating with Mitsubishi for the last 25 years and its a …natural step forward for us to continue to work with them in this project.”
Hahah, becoming recognized as a player in the market? Well done Proton, you guys re-badged an EVO and tadaa, we’ve got a new car design? Go design something yourself and create your own corporate branding, then start talking about being a major player in the Automotive industry. Thanks for giving me my daily dose of laughter. No seriously.
